Individualised support, wherever you are in your fertility journey.

Trying to conceive can quickly become a world of tracking, testing, appointments and uncertainty. It can also feel surprisingly isolating.

I offer individualised acupuncture support for women trying to conceive naturally or undergoing assisted fertility treatment, including IVF.

Your appointments provide dedicated time to look at where you are in your fertility journey, what is happening with your cycle or treatment, your wider health, and how you are feeling along the way.

Trying to conceive

There is no single fertility journey.

You may be at the beginning of trying to conceive, have been trying for some time, be undergoing fertility investigations, or have a diagnosis such as PCOM or endometriosis. You may also be trying again following pregnancy loss or navigating secondary infertility.

Your treatment begins with understanding your individual picture.

We’ll look at your menstrual cycle in detail alongside any relevant investigations or diagnoses, previous pregnancies or fertility treatment, medications and your wider health, including sleep, stress, digestion and energy.

Acupuncture can then be incorporated as part of your overall fertility care, with treatment adapted according to your cycle, your health and where you are in the process.

Acupuncture alongside IVF

IVF can sometimes feel highly medicalised and protocol-driven. There are medications to manage, appointments to attend, results to wait for and a whole new language to understand.

Your acupuncture appointments are different.

They provide continuity throughout the process, a space where the focus remains on you, rather than simply the next stage of your treatment.

If you are undergoing IVF, acupuncture can be scheduled around different stages of your cycle and used alongside the care provided by your fertility clinic and acupuncture can be utilised through all stages of the process.

Before treatment

You can begin acupuncture in the weeks or months before starting IVF, giving us time to understand your particular menstrual cycle, general health and unique treatment plan.

Stimulation

Treatment can be adapted as your IVF cycle progresses and around the medications and monitoring being provided by your fertility clinic.

Egg collection

Appointments can be scheduled around this stage where appropriate, with treatment tailored to you specifically.

Embryo transfer

Timing will depend on your individual treatment schedule and what is practical for you.

What does the research say?

Acupuncture has been increasingly studied as a complementary therapy alongside fertility treatment, particularly IVF.

A large 2025 systematic review brought together 42 randomised controlled trials involving 7,400 women undergoing IVF. The researchers found that acupuncture was associated with higher clinical pregnancy rates, as well as reduced anxiety and improved pain management around fertility procedures.

Research continues to explore how acupuncture may support women during fertility treatment, and findings vary depending on factors such as when acupuncture is given, how many treatments are received and the protocols used.

Acupuncture can be used alongside your medical care, providing individualised support throughout a process that can be physically and emotionally demanding. My approach is simple: to provide thoughtful, evidence-informed acupuncture care while keeping you at the centre of the treatment.

Fertility acupuncture in Bray

The clinic is based in Bray, Co. Wicklow, where I provide individualised fertility and IVF acupuncture for women trying to conceive naturally or undergoing assisted fertility treatment.

The clinic is accessible to women travelling from across North Wicklow and South Dublin, including Greystones, Enniskerry, Shankill and surrounding areas.

It is a 2 minute walk to the DART station and has ample on street parking at a rate of .30c per hour.

More than a treatment…

Trying to conceive can take up an enormous amount of mental and emotional space.

For some women, their acupuncture appointment becomes a welcome point in the week where they can be supported and listened to as they unpack the process, have time for themselves to slow down and be looked after.

You don't have to feel positive about the process every week. You don't need to arrive with everything figured out.

Your appointment meets you wherever you are that day.

Where do the needles go?

There isn’t one standard set of fertility acupuncture points.

The points used will depend on your individual health, your menstrual cycle, where you are in your fertility or IVF treatment and my clinical assessment on the day.

Acupuncture points may be used on areas including the lower legs, feet, arms, hands, abdomen, head or ears. If you are undergoing fertility treatment or there is a possibility of pregnancy, your treatment is adapted accordingly.

Acupuncture needles are extremely fine and most people find treatment comfortable and relaxing.

Your treatment starts with you.
